There are trade-offs. More cameras and longer retention periods increase storage requirements and project cost. The right design focuses first on meaningful coverage, reliable recording, and straightforward retrieval when an incident occurs.

Before selecting equipment, ask how the system will be administered after installation. Who can add or remove employees? Can permissions be changed remotely?
